This 6 year old FS Bassett Hound presented with swelling in the left shoulder area, but no obvious pain elicited on manipulation of either thoracic limb prior to CT.

DX

Both the computed tomography of the shoulder region and thorax are within normal limits.

Image Interpretation

CT of the thorax and left shoulder –

No abnormalities are noted for the bony and soft tissue structures of the right and left shoulder.  Only mild degenerative changes of the axial skeleton are noted. The C7/T1 disc presents chondrois degeneration with central mineralization but there is no evidence of herniation.

Outcome

There also is no evidence of compressive myelopathy throughout the cervical spine or pathology of the brachial plexus. Non-compressive or non- disc related myelopathy cannot be ruled out entirely. Clincial correlation is warranted.
