Case Study

CT – Normal cervical spine with axillary lymphadomegaly in a 9 year old MN Miniature Schnauzer with lameness

This 9 year old MN Miniature Schnauzer presented with left front limb lameness and inappetance of 2 week duration. Some muscle atrophy and reluctant to turn head to the left. MRI unremarkable.

Image Interpretation

CT of the cervical spine – The computed tomography of the cervical spine is within normal limits. There is no evidence of a compressive myelopathy or neuropathy. The left axillary lymph node reveals mild generalized enlargement with maintained short-to-long-axis ratio and contrast enhancement behaviour.

DX

The computed tomography of the cervical spine is within normal limits. An underlying cause of the lameness was not identified

Outcome

Mild leftsided axillary lymphadenomegaly with a benign pattern was noted and as to its tributary region may be an indirect indicator of a left front limb pathology.
