CT of the head and cervical spine – Except for mild conformational asymmetry between the right and left hippocampus with subtle compensatory asymmetry of the lateral ventricles the brain parenchym is within normal limits for structure, attenuation and contrast enhancement. A mass lesion is not identified. There is no evidence of compressive myelopathy throughout the cervical spine.
Even though hippocampal atrophy has been reported with mesial temporal lobe epilepsy the findings are very mild here and very likely within the range of normal conformational variation.
The workup should be complemented by examination of CSF to screen for inflammatory brain disease as this may not be associated with macromorphologic changes.
