DX

Rightsided focal swelling of the attachment of the gluteal musculature to the greater trochanter.

Image Interpretation

CT of the pelvic limbs, plain –

Minor signs of hip dysplasia with mildly increased dorsolateral subluxation and joint space divergence are noted for the right hip joint. The positioning of both hind limbs is not perfectly identical which limits the assessment of the gluteal musculature. However, there is the impression of a mild focal swelling of the musculature within the right fossa trochanterica which is compatible with the gluteal muscle insertion

Outcome

This may represent a true lesion or a positional artifact.
Minor signs of rightsided hip dysplasia. Clinical integration is warranted.
Further definition woud require a post contrast series, if not an ultrasound or MRI of the pertaining region.
