The compressive myelopathy may be responsible for proprioceptive deficits. However, paresthesia is not a typical sequela of compressive myelopathies with the pertaining neuroanatomic localization. Moreover, the incidence of Chiari-like malformation with
Moderate chronic intervertebral disc protrusion L1/L2 with mild to moderate compressive myelopathy
Osteoarthrosis both coxofemoral joints due to hip dysplasia, L>>R
Primary secretory otitis media bilaterally PSOM – a common incidental finding in many brachycephalic breeds, especially common in CKCS
Spondylosis deformans
Degenerative intervertebral disc disease C4/C5
Syringomyelia and secondary paresthesia syndromes is high in CKCS of that age.
An MRI study of the head and cervical spine (may want to include lumbar spine as well to rule out lower motor neuron myelopathy of the hind limbs as well) is strongly recommended for further definition if the clinical signs persist.
