Abdominal lymph nodes

Sonopath Forum

Hello

I was hoping for some help identifying the structures that I believe to be lymph nodes. They are in close proximity to the ileocollic junction but seem just a little too far away to be certain.

The images are from “Mister” a 12 year old MN DSH that presented for jaundice and anorexia. His BG was high as was his spec lipase. We posted an image of what we think is the body of the pancreas and it displays some focal anechoic areas.

The potential Lymph nodes in the abdomen don’t really add up so I was hoping for some confirmation that they are lymph nodes and whether we would see this with a diabetic cat with pancreatitis that is still BAR and no fluid in the abdomen?

Thanks. Brent.

yes those are Ln and likely

yes those are Ln and likely mesenteric artery in the middle of them. One is cystic in the last video which is what happens after chronic inflammation and generation sometimes abscess. You will see this in chronic ibd cats and dogs on occasion. Usually lymph drawn back on centesis. These are maintaining lnegth to width ratio but have fuzzy capsules which suggest inflammation. FNA and consider pcr if thinking lsa but angle away from the artery.
