Regional pancreatitis.
The right and left limbs of the pancreas were hypoechoic and slightly irregular. Portions of the pancreatic inflammation in the right are approaching the common bile duct. Therefore, the practitioner should be apprised of the potential for post hepatic obstruction in this case. The left limb of the pancreas was hypoechoic, irregular with pericapsular hyperechoic inflammatory pattern. This is consistent with multifocal, sectorial pancreatitis. Excellent views of both duodenal papillae without evidence of ductal dilatation at this time.
