Gastric repletion. If the patient was N.P.O. at the time of the sonogram then gastric foreign matter is suspected. The remainder of the abdomen was unremarkable.

The stomach was filled with ingesta and a small amount of anechoic fluid.

Outcome

Ultrasound was repeated 24 hours later and revealed 6-8 cm +, progressively shadowing foreign material was noted. This is consistent with carpet or fabric and is surrounded by mildly echogenic fluid that is more echogenic than sonogram that was performed 24 hours ago.
