The patient is a Pit Bull, 11 years, intact male. The patient presented with lethargy, tachypnea, with no murmur. Generalized cardiomegaly was noted on radiographs with mild anemia.

Sonographic Differential Diagnosis

Chemodectoma, hemangiosarcoma, fibrosarcoma or other connective tissue tumor suspected.

Image Interpretation

Mixed hypoechoic heart based mass is noted with pericardial effusion.

DX

Heart base mass, hemopericardium.

No further outcome at this time.

Clinical Differential Diagnosis

Cardiac failure, heart based neoplasia, cardiac tamponade idiopathic or neoplastic.

Sampling

Pericadiocentesis revealed frank hemopericardium.
