Wondering if this resemble a pancreatic pseudocyst.
Jack is a 7 year old M/N Lab presented with anorexia, losing weight and occ. vomiting
US: enlarged, hypoechoic pancreas with surrounding fat that is hyperechoic + small abd. free fluid
Dif: Necrotizing pancreatitis.
The cyst was identified just caudal to stomach but exact origin couldn’t identify.
Thank you,
Calin

Ye Calin this is an inflamed
Ye Calin this is an inflamed cyst or abscess. You can remove it as it appears on the left panc base or drain us-guided see interventional procedures (http://www.sonopath.com/resources/interventional-procedures) and also inject baytril into it (BW dose) when you have fully drained . This is inflamed or an overt abscess becaue its surrounded by ill-defined inflamed fat and there is inflamed fat elsewhere in the other images

Here is a similar abscess in
Here is a similar abscess in midst of pancreatic necrosis from the pathology CD. aerobic anaerobic cultures warranted and cytology of an fna from the parenchymal portion to ensure no underlying carcinoma that can look like this though pretty uniform and organized so I doubt it but don’t want to miss it.

Thank you Eric,
I thought so.
Thank you Eric,
I thought so. Unfortunatelly limited funds (discounted US) and FNA/Drainage not an option at this point. Maybe if regular vet would have some luck with sympt. treatment and if dog relapses… maybe I’ll get to do the aspiration and Baytril infusion:)
Thank you,
