17 yo M/N DSH, chronic vomiting, good appetite, recent 1# weight loss, normal bloodwork, on methimazole.
Liver: several (4-5) 5-8mm hypoechoic ill-defined nodules.
Mildly thickened intestinal loops with prominent muscularis. Reactive LN between stomach and liver (6mm), with hyperechoic fat, colic LN 3.9mm. Spleen WNL.
2 similar round intramural masses (1cm each), hypoechoic, with positive blood flow. One is in the jejunum, other one is at the IC junction. I thought the first one was the cecum, because it almost looks like a blind pouch.
FNA of the liver and the IC mass pending.
What do you think of these 2 nodules? Lymphoma? granuloma?
Thank you!
Julie

Comments
Looks more like infiltrative
Looks more like infiltrative neoplasia with lymphoma the most likely diagnosis.

GI
Update with FNA results:
GI nodule: mast cell tumor.
Liver: normal hepatocytes.
MCT in the intestinal wall. Do we do chemo? Is the surgical resection of the 2 nodules indicated?
Thanks for your input.
Julie
Last I heard Pred Leukeran
Last I heard Pred Leukeran protocol is as good as any on mast cell in cats.
Thank you Eric!
Thank you Eric!
As there are multiple nodules
As there are multiple nodules would go for chemo rather than surgery – pred and leukeran.
