Dilated Intrahepatic bile ducts, normal liver values in a senior cat

Dilated intrahepatic bile ducts, chronic vomiting, normal liver values in a senior cat.

– 13 yo M/N Siamese, intermittent chronic vomiting (food and hair) in the last few months. 1# weight loss in a year.

– Normal bloodwork!

– Intrahepatic bile ducts seem dilated (2-3mm), but the GB is normal, the distal CBD and duodenal papilla are WNL.

– The duodenum has normal layers but measured thickened (3.2-3.6mm). Normal jejunum/IC junction.

– Gastric lymph node was there (3.6mm), I normally don’t see it unless there is inflammation.

– One hyperechoic focus (3mm) in muscularis of the stomach, maybe ulcer but could be artifact/gas (not fully NPO).

Is it just age changes/previous hepatic insult causing the dilated bile ducts or can we have cholangitis with normal liver values?

Thank you!

Julie

As the gall bladder is not

As the gall bladder is not distened and no obvious obstruction dilated bile duct an age-related change. With the history, thickened duodenum, and lymph node would think of inflammatory bowel disease.
