I call these pin point
I call these pin point mineralizations and small stones… its really semantic but if it moves to the ureter and ub i call it stone. Not sure there are definitive criteria. Anyone else have opinion on this?
Location location location.
Location location location. Renoliths should always be found within the limits or outreaches of the renal pelvis. Mineralization is often around the interlobar vessels. Color Doppler shows up right in the middle of them. Mineralization can be in the medulla or cortex (nephrocalcinosis). Many cases demonstrate both renoliths & mineralization which can be found at the same time within one kidney.
