Liver mass

Sonopath Forum

  • 10 year old FE Husky
  • Decreased appetite, severe weight loss and recent pu/pd
  • Liver mass extending from right side of liver, FNA pending, do you think this would be resectable?
  • Bladder neck appears diffusely thickened, is this just because of bladder volume?

Re the UB thats not a good place to have thickening and I think its real to some extent but uniform which is good. Try rescanning at full volume.

I see an overt left liver mass with ill defined medial margins and nodular right sided changes. In the ideal world CT with comntrast here and left and right sided usg bx or fna to comapare pathology. This is likely relatibvely low grade so even a significant debulking may be in order. Bile acids not a bad idea either. We need the pv, cvc and cbd and HVs and maybe the Gb. So if those structures are solid and the mass stays on the left or lobar caudal on the right the sx can usually resect it. This also depends on the surgeon of course as well.
