I have seen a handful of liver cysts but what kind of impact or future issues can they cause?

If the are echogenic or
If the are echogenic or excessively large with inflammation around them then we drain and culture but otherwise let sleeping dogs lie. If they are part of a mass then we may drain and cytospin down and fna the parenchymal portions of the mass.
I also look at liver enzyme
I also look at liver enzyme activity, which can give an indication of compression pressure on the liver parenchyma.
