Bull Terrier Heart disease

Hello

This is Spot who presented in respiratory distress. Had pleural effusion and an abdominal US showed no abnormalities; no distention of the hepatic veins.

The echo showed what I believe is DCM and the measurement and M-mode support that, but the Right heart looks abnormal to me and there is a marked regurgitant jet at the tricuspid valve. The Rt atrium looks enlarged and the Rt ventricular walls look more muscular than the Lt walls.

I was wondering if I could get an opinon on these images as to whether these look like DCM or whether we should be considering other heart disease. (Heartworm test was negative). Thanks. Brent

Looks very DCM or at least

Looks very DCM or at least systolic duysfunction with right and left overload. Triple TX lasix, acei, pimo and stabilize. Check thyroid and supplement taurine and carnitine and rescan to be sure the DCM still fits. Consider myocarditis as well that can mimic DCM
