Stomach mass

Sonopath Forum

Hello

This is Bailey a 13 year old ShiTzu that has been vomiting and lethargic for the last few days. Has 5-10fold increase of liver enzymes and pancreatitis. The GB has moderate to marked focal hyperechoic points that do not appear to move and the bile duct shows shadowing. The liver has 2 hyperechoic irregular masses in the Rt lobe.

We also saw several anechoic masses in what I presume is the stomach wall. I have never seen this before and was looking for confirmation. These are very distinct circular masses and I posted one image of an ill-defined area in the caudal border.

Any insight or reccomendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Brent.

These look luminal Brent. Put power Doppler over the last one in your series and see if it lights up to differentiate undigested food or other (yams for example will look like this) as opposed to an oblique mural lesion.

The dog is still in the hospital so I will repeat the US and consider FNA if they are still present In the same location. Thanks. Brent

To me the stomach wall has retained its layering and no loss of “curvi-linear” pattern.

I go with EL- intraluminal. Good images of the gastric rugal folds- I believe

Hello again

We repeated the US today. The odd looking luminal contents were most likely carrots. They appear to be gone now. I posted 3 new video clips of the stomach. (Hope that’s OK).I still see something circular and can possibly palpate these. I was hoping for comments on whether anyone feels the new images have abnormal areas.

Bailey is still not herself but is eating and at home now. Thanks. Brent
