This case I read out for Rachel Brilhart of Intrapet in Baltimore this am (I’m actually off line but had to jump in to help out welcome to my life lol), HGE type clinical signs ain a middle aged Cocker spaniel, and just got giddy withe the artistic imaging by Rachel. But also this shows how intraoperative ultrasound can help r&a properly and of course shows why following the lines of the submucosal and serosal layers are so helpful (see labeling that I did for the report). This is likely an inflammatory lesion but of course carcinoma can’t be ruled out.

This is likely an inflammatory lesion but of course carcinoma can’t be ruled out. But following the lines here delivers my gut feeling of inflammatory with abscess and gives the dog a fighting chance with cup half full on paper so the vet has a fightingly + discussion with the owner to take this to surgery as opposed to saying “colonic mass” ; which owner hears “cancer” and often will stop there when a treatable scenario is likely present… with maybe a bad bug like clostridium involved. Just though I would share the nerdiness this am:)
