Posting for a fellow technician: We are using a 12 L probe for parts of our ultrasound exam and when we send our telemedicine files, the 12 L images are big files. It’s a refurbed probe, but it is in good condition. Does anyone have recommendations for setting when using this probe or a solution to the big data files it is creating? Thanks! A.

The 12L has more data then
The 12L has more data then the 8c. What is the issue you are having and how large are the files?

Large files sizes are the
Large files sizes are the main problemo. Our cases for sending via telemedicine are upwards of 350 MB, we were trying to figure out a way to decrease the file size and didn’t know the 12L’s data was a bit more than the 8c. -A.

Sometimes the GE software
Sometimes the GE software will artificially load extra file size and GE has had no answer for this.
so what happens is larger files wont run on certain software when they will at 10 mb for example but not 40 mb.
So I use mplayerx and that has the codecs to read the GE files and larger ones as well.
http://mplayerx.org/download.html
regarding the file size issue a call to GE applications may help wiht the configuration but they should not change the p3 mutiple vs secondary capture setting or the images will come over as stills. changing the quailty to 95% or less instead of 100% may work but its quirky. just have to try

I had a large file size
I had a large file size problem suddenly; GE showed me how to compress the file size to 85% and so far that has worked. They had no idea why though; if it happens again they said they would transfer me to the “Technical” people. Wouldn’t let me talk to them on this initial go around.
