A 12-year-old SF Australian Cattle Dog with a history of copper storage disease and on a prior ultrasound a parenchymal splenic mass, nodular hepatic changes, and bilateral adrenal gland hypertrophy was presented for evaluation.

Aortic thrombus.
Splenic mass.
Hepatic nodule.
The aorta in this patient presented a large thrombus that measured 1.0 x approximately 5.0 cm. This occupied approximately 60% of the aorta.
The splenic mass has now expanded to approximately 9.0 cm and was largely parenchyma. There was no evident cavitation or evidence of rupture. Hematoma versus low-grade neoplasia is suspected.
The liver presented mixed echogenic nodular changes with some disruption of architecture. The nodule in the left liver measured 3.5 x 2.2 cm. Ultrasound-guided FNA is strongly recommended. The remainder of the liver presented heterogenous parenchymal changes, yet was uniform. This is most consistent with nodular hyperplasia and benign hepatopathy.
