A 3-year-old SF Beagle with a history of chronic cough and PuPd was referred for evaluation of azotemia and electrolyte abnormalities. SG was 1.005. Abnormalities on serum biochemistry were azotemia, hyperphosphatemia, hyponatremia (135) and hyperkalemia (8).

 

Sonographic Differential Diagnosis

Sonographically normal adrenal glands

Image Interpretation

The right adrenal gland was normal in width with minor heterogenous changes and measured 2.03 x 0.54 cm at the cranial pole and 0.46 cm at the caudal pole. The left adrenal gland was normal in width measuring 1.51 x 0.45 cm at the cranial pole and 0.45 cm at the caudal pole.
